All Dependency Maps in Jira are built from a Jira filter, which loads a list of issues to visualize. However, you may want to include linked issues that aren’t part of the original filter results – such as dependencies to or from other projects.

Instead of creating a broader filter (which could clutter your map with irrelevant issues), use the “Follow links (outside the filter result)” option. This allows you to:

  • Set the number of links to follow.
  • Choose which link types to include.

In this case, Dependency Map will follow two levels of  “blocks” and “duplicates” links from the issues returned by the filter.
